Which curtains can be washed at SMARŽO self-service laundromats

The method for washing curtains depends on the material. In washing machines, you can wash cotton, tulle, polyester, and nylon curtains. For lace and delicate fabrics, it’s best to place them in a protective mesh bag before washing. Some curtain materials, like mounted curtains, should not be machine washed. Always check the manufacturer’s label to see if machine washing and drying are allowed.

What to keep in mind when washing curtains

Shake out the curtains to remove dust before washing.

Remove rings from the curtains. If grommets cannot be removed, place the curtains in a protective mesh bag for washing.

It’s recommended to measure the length and width of the curtains before washing, as you may need to stretch them back to their original size afterward.

Wash curtains on a delicate cycle at 30°C with a 600 RPM spin speed, unless the label specifies a different setting.

If you choose to dry curtains in the dryer, use a low temperature and don’t dry them completely. Slightly damp curtains are easier to iron, stretch, or hang, allowing wrinkles to naturally fall out. Just avoid folding and storing damp curtains in a closet, as they may develop mold.

Curtains should ideally be washed once or twice a year.
